Welcome to Remote Control Helicopters Review site. Here we review a few of the most popular brands of Remote Control Helicopters. Where very passionate about the hobby of flying remote control helicopters. It all started when my son wouldn’t stop bothering me about getting a remote control helicopter for Christmas. (needless to say he got one) Well I took a look online and I couldn’t really find any sites dedicated to finding the best price for remote control helicopters. Also I couldn’t find any sites besides Amazon that gave any decent reviews. Lets get started, shall we?
Lets keep in mind that not all remote control helicopters are created equal. Some work very well and handle great but others are flying turds. The only two problems I find with all remote control helicopters is :
1. The battery never lasts long enough.
2. The cat always escapes!
Lets get onto the basics now.
People often forget that remote control helicopters are more then a simple toy. The truth is they’re a complicated flying machine adored by people of all ages. Kids and adults all over the world have fallen in love with flying and with there remote control helicopters.
You don’t need the fanciest remote control helicopter or even the most expensive. There are remote control helicopters that wont break the bank and that just handle so well in every aspect. Many people agree that the Syma is one of the easiest and one of the more reasonable priced helicopters.
There are many different kinds of remote control helicopters on the market. Some are single rotor and others are co-axial.
- The co-axial style helicopters have more then one rotor; they have an upper rotor blade and a lower rotor blade but no tail blade.
- The single rotor helicopters fall into two subcategories: fixed-pitch or collective-pitch helicopters.
- Fixed-pitch remote control helicopters have a rotor that can not be move in any way and when it lifts it only uses throttle. Fixed-pitch are suggested for beginners to learn on. They are a bit more forgiving to control.
- Collective-pitch remote control helicopters fly with a combination of throttle and pitch control.
As a beginner an easy to fly remote control helicopter would be ideal. Its suggested to start in doors because there is not any wind for you to battle with. Since your starting indoors its also suggested you start off with a smaller sized remote control helicopter. There easier to maneuver around the house.
A few things to keep in mind when shopping:
- Cost: You dont want to spend 10k on a remote control helicopter. Dont worry Ive found the best prices here.
- Durability: You want to be solid enough to withstand crashes, and extra parts- to be able to repair your machine if it breaks down.
- Flight Time vs. Charge Time: You dont always want to be charging your helicopter do you?
- Cosmetics: The remote control helicopter has to look cool right?
